Salzburg

Our foursome has shrunk to a trio. Jamie´s three weeks with us ran out on Sunday and she flew back home to Washington. After dropping Jamie off in Zurich, we headed into Germany. We spent two nights in a small Bavarian town and toured crazy King Ludwig II´s three castles in the area (including the famous Neuschwanstein, which inspired the Disneyland castle). We had planned to spend the next two nights in Munich, but all of the lodging was booked solid due to some sort of convention going on in the city. Instead, we opted to head into Austria and will hit Munich on our way back through Germany. We´ve got lots more to tell, but the Internet cafe I´m typing from is closing, so this quick update will have to do for now. Ciao!

There isa beautiful village in the south from Salzburg. It is called Heiligenblut and the highway that goes by there will take you to the Franz Josef Glacier. It has around 20 hairpen curves on it. It is another beautiful place. When you are traveling through Austria remember to go to Melk to see the beautiful Monastary this side of Vienna. If you stay along the highway that goes along the Danube River you can see some neat scenery. Did you go to Berchtesgaden in Germany? It is beautiful there especially on the boat ride on the Konigsee. I believe I sent some ideas for overnights in Vienna and Prague. I hope what I am mentioning too see is what you will be able to do. The weather here is fine today and some rain tomorrow. When going back into Germany you might think about going through Rothenberg. It is one of the best kept old city in Germany. Try to get to see Triere along the Mosel River. Anyway have fun. Love from John & Irene

anonymous indeed!
Hello! Only one question; have you seen the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang castle? That's where I'm going someday. First I have to remember where it is... oh wait, Europe! :P Take a picture of it for me if you go.
